In the past, she has handled all aspects of case management in a variety of different areas of civil litigation. Her prior experience is primarily in healthcare law, both in the defense of medical malpractice cases and in breach of contract actions between hospitals and insurance companies. She also has experience in federal maritime law, as well as in premises liability, product liability and legal malpractice, including the defense of attorneys in administrative proceedings before the State Bar of California. In 2000, Ms. Cucu participated in the formulation of a continuing legal education seminar concerning the elimination of gender bias in the legal profession.
Ms. Cucu has lived in the Los Angeles area for most of her life, and earned her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. While in law school, Ms. Cucu worked for a criminal law firm and drafted appellate briefs. She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from San Diego State University. Her undergraduate education included participation in a research study analyzing the homeless and mentally ill population in San Diego, as well as an AIDS research project and programs designed to reduce cigarette smoking in young teenagers.
