Mesothelioma attorny RON C. EDDINS is a founding partner of Simon, Eddins & Greenstone, LLP. Ron graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 1994. He obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1998. Ron is currently licensed to practice law in California and Texas. Ron is the Managing Partner of the firm's Long Beach, California office and the firm's west coast practice.
A well respected trial attorney, Ron has obtained over $60 million in trial verdicts for his clients since 2002. Some of Ron's recent accomplishments include a $8.4 million settlement (net share to client after deducting attorneys' fees and expenses) in September 2007 for a client suffering from mesothelioma. On March 13, 2007, Ron obtained over $3.2 million for a client (after deducting attorneys' fees and expenses) following a $5.7 million trial verdict in a Navy-only exposure case in Los Angeles against Leslie Controls, Inc. In October 2004, Ron also obtained over $19.2 million for a client (after deducting attorneys' fees and expenses) following a $36.6 million trial verdict in Los Angeles against Garlock Sealing Technologies, Inc. and Kelly-Moore Paint Company. This verdict was later named the 48th largest verdict in the United States for 2004, as published in the National Law Journal, Top 100 Verdicts. In June 2004, Ron obtained a $10 million trial verdict in a household exposure case against Ford Motor Company on behalf of a client with mesothelioma.
Ron has been repeatedly recognized by his peers for his excellence in trial law. For four consecutive years (2005-2008), Ron has been recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer Rising Star as published in Texas Monthly and Texas Super Lawyer magazines. Ron is also an invited member of the National Register's "Who's Who" Among Executives and Professionals for 2006-2007. Ron has been an invited speaker at asbestos litigation conferences and seminars addressing topics such as trial techniques, closing arguments, and "winning themes" in Navy equipment exposure cases.
