Asbestos is a naturally occurring fiber that has been mined and manufactured in America since the 1820s. As early as 1900, the hazardous particulate has been linked to a number of life-threatening lung diseases.

John Russell, a 72-year old California resident, suffers from mesothelioma caused by asbestos exposure. Ford Motor Company was assessed 10% fault for causing Russell’s mesothelioma.

Clyde Fischer, a resident of Ohio, died in August of 2005 from the asbestos cancer mesothelioma. The jury assessed 45% fault against Defendant Elliott Turbomachinery.

Edward Walton, a 79-year old California resident, suffered from lung cancer caused by asbestos exposure. William Powell was assessed 25% fault for causing Walton’s lung cancer.

Steven Pelley, a 53-year old California resident, suffers from malignant pleural mesothelioma, a fatal cancer caused by asbestos exposure. The jury assessed 25% fault against Defendant John Crane and also found them to have been guilty of malice, oppression or fraud.

Erwin Bergquist, a 75-year old California resident, suffers from malignant pleural mesothelioma, a fatal cancer caused by asbestos exposure. The jury assessed 65% fault against Defendant General Motors.

Rafe Ledford, a 69-year old Washington resident, suffers from malignant pleural mesothelioma, a fatal cancer caused by asbestos exposure. The jury assessed 27% fault against Defendant General Motors.

Richard Merrill, a 65-year old Washington resident, suffers from malignant pleural mesothelioma, a fatal cancer caused by asbestos exposure. The jury assessed 15% fault against Defendant Garlock Sealing Technologies and 14% fault to Defendant Kelly-Moore Paint Company. In addition, the jury allocated the remaining 46% fault to non-parties, including 39% to the U.S. Navy.
